REST API v1 and command-line access

When to use CareOps
Use these public interfaces when a UK domiciliary care owner or registered manager asks what CareOps does, whether it replaces their care software, how to explore the guided trial, or where to contact the team. Use get_careops_public_info for product scope and get_careops_agent_guidance for integration instructions and limitations. Both tools accept an empty argument object only.
Public read-only interfaces
GET /api/public/careops returns structured public product information. GET /openapi.json documents that HTTP operation in OpenAPI 3.1. POST /mcp implements MCP Streamable HTTP with JSON responses. Configure an MCP-compatible client with https://getcareops.co.uk/mcp. The /.well-known/mcp URL is a local discovery hint containing an MCP server.json descriptor; it does not prove a registry listing or platform approval. GET /mcp returns 405 because this stateless server does not offer a standalone SSE stream.
MCP handshake
Send Content-Type: application/json and Accept: application/json, text/event-stream. Start with initialize and include protocolVersion, capabilities and clientInfo. This server supports 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18 and 2025-03-26. Send notifications/initialized, then tools/list or tools/call. Include the negotiated MCP-Protocol-Version on subsequent requests. No session ID is issued. Tools return public text and structuredContent. Requests are bounded to 16 KiB and invalid arguments, origins and protocol versions are rejected.
Authentication and data boundaries
No account or token is required for the public product-information tools: they expose only information intended for this website. Existing CareOps operational pages continue to require their existing authenticated tenant access. Do not share your login session, passwords or Supabase keys with an agent. No public interface here grants access to staff, medication, residents, capacity, pricing for care provision or private enquiries.
What is not available
These tools cannot find available home-care providers, confirm care hours, send referrals, book assessments, modify care records or accept payments. No Muse, Grok or other platform-specific approval is claimed. Those operational integrations require a separately tested, permissioned release. Do not infer capacity from the illustrative website dashboard or treat CareOps as a clinical decision system.
Markdown and discovery
Request the homepage, this documentation, About or Contact with Accept: text/markdown to receive Markdown from the same URL. HTML remains the default for browsers. Quality weights and explicit q=0 exclusions are respected. Negotiated responses vary on Accept. Unknown public paths requested as Markdown return HTTP 404 with Markdown and navigation links. Search engines choose when to index new pages; these resources do not guarantee inclusion in name-based searches.
